LearnDirect aims to provide access to courses and training resources nationwide, delivering learning solutions wherever and whenever individuals require. Businesses both large and small can use the learndirect resources to support their own development programmes. Or give their employees access in order to encourage lifelong learning.

Extensive and searchable guide to learning resources on the internet. Plenty for younger students but there are also sections for adult learners learning communities.
• The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education www.niace.org.uk
Charity promoting adult learning in England and Wales. Includes links to information on lifelong learning and places to go for individual financial support.
• The Commonwealth of Learning www.col.org
An initiative established by Commonwealth governments to share and develop techniques in open learning and distance learning. Includes vast database of collected learning resources and links to education organisations across the globe.

Identifies strategies and practical measures for lifelong learning across the continent. The site is heavy on the bureaucratic process but does have useful links to organisations including the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training and the European Training Foundation.
